EXPEDITIONS FOR SCHOOLS
How we work with schools
We make it easy for your students to complete the expedition phase of their Duke of Edinburgh Award, whether at Bronze, Silver or Gold level. Many schools find organising these expeditions makes unreasonable demands on already busy staff so we are at hand to ease the burden and make all arrangements and see your students successfully and safely complete their expedition.
We are happy to come to your school to speak with parents, teachers or the groups and can run sessions on what food to bring on the expedition and also cooking on a trangia.
We can run either or both training and qualifying expeditions to meet your needs. Get in touch on dofe@action4youth.org to discuss.

The Expeditions
We offer walking and canoe expeditions on carefully planned routes in appropriate locations for all 3 Award levels from March to October each year. For the Bronze Award, a convenient location close to your school may suit but for Silver and Gold Expeditions, we find the best location with the right level of challenge. We can operate anywhere in the UK.
Paddling expeditions on Stand Up Paddleboards or canoes are a fun adventure and can suit those less able to walk a distance.
We will secure suitable camp sites for all expeditions and sometimes welcome groups to our own campsite at The Caldecotte Xperience on the edge of Milton Keynes.
All of our expeditions are planned and supervised by our qualified staff, ensuring a safe adventure for all the young people working towards their award. We can arrange fully accessible expeditions designed to meet your group’s needs.

Costs
Costs are per person and based on a minimum number of 14 participants and can vary depending on location. We are willing to deliver part of the expeditions, working with the school to deliver the full DofE programme. SILVER EXPEDITIONS
Walking cost including training and qualifying expeditions (6 days).
From £260+VAT depending on UK location
Canoeing cost including training and qualifying expeditions (6 days).
From £325+VAT depending on UK location
GOLD EXPEDITIONS
Total cost including training and qualifying expeditions (8 days).
From £480+VAT depending on UK location
